Wordless Wednesday - Big Girl

Posted by Steph , Wednesday, October 6, 2010 3:46 PM

It's been hitting me lately how big D is getting. She's 18 months old, and fiercely independent! The other day I was changing her diaper, and turned to find her pants and when I came back she had grabbed her dirty diaper, walked over, lifted up the lid to her diaper pail and plopped it in! I was just so wrapped up in that moment, I could have cried (I might have teared up a little). It just hit me, how big she's getting. She helps me pick up her snacks she drops on the floor, pick up coat-hangers when I'm done hanging laundry. She tells me when her diaper is wet ( Pats herself and says BUTT! Meaning "Change my Butt!"). The other day we were watching TLC and there were babies on the TV, she toddled off and came back with her baby doll and rocked him and cuddled him and wrapped him up in a blanket. My little girl is getting soo big! And in case you couldn't tell I am having a BIG case of baby fever. So in lieu of that, let's have a view of D over the past 18 months...

Wordless Wednesday - Apples!

Posted by Steph , Wednesday, September 22, 2010 12:33 PM

This is our first year doing things as a family, really. Last year Danica was too little to really do much. And I was beyond excited for the falltime activities, including APPLE PICKING! We found a place nearby that sounded great, and took last Sunday for family day. And it was amazing! We picked 13 POUNDS of apples. Danica had a blast.

I was surprised there were any apples left on the trees but we had a good selection of McIntosh

They had a great old-fashioned swing I loved! There was also a newer swingset too

The apples taste great too! But nothing was better than spending the day with the family creating a new tradition :) And they have the best donuts I have ever tasted. Apple Cider, homemade on the premises. To give you a hint on how great the pricing was, we left there with a GALLON of their apple cider (with their apples in it) 13 POUNDS of apples, a Dozen homemade donuts and a little punkin for Danica. All said and done we spent less than $30! MMM! Now for the pies, Crisps, and Memere's homemade applesauce...

Wordless Wednesday- Fall?

Posted by Steph , Wednesday, September 8, 2010 8:48 PM

So fall is kinda sorta here. We're having major issues with Jeans. All Jeans. Skinny Jeans, Big jeans, little jeans. Adjustable Jeans. I just cannot get them to fit right! Every one of them only comes to about halfway up her diaper and gaps. I think it's a Rise problem and not a size problem. UGH! I love Jeans and I am heartbroken that the jeans I (mistakenly) bought and washed will not fit her. BUT! Good news is we hit up a bunch of Labor Day sales, scored some great deals, and I have some cute new Babylegs :)We went on a nice walk and spent some time exploring our little field. So here are some fun "First days of Fall" pictures from this past weekend :)

Wordless Wednesday- Sepia

Well, after a bout of September-y weather the thermometer jumped back up to 100* but before it did, we had time to go out in the backyard and inspect nature. D loves anything to do with nature, leaves, grass, wind, etc. I also realized how great she looks in Sepia :)

Wordless Wednesday - I wear my sunglasses at night

Posted by Steph , Wednesday, August 25, 2010 2:35 PM

ALL summer long I have been trying to get D to wear her "COOL DUDE" glasses. She hates sunglasses of any sort and would just take them off and throw them. Of course now that the weather is cooling off she wanted to wear them all night.

Kawaii Diapers!

Posted by Steph , Thursday, August 19, 2010 9:00 AM

My birthday was the end of July, even though it seemed like just a couple days ago. And I got the BEST present!! I won a $50 gift certificate over at Sweetbottoms Baby Boutique I was so excited I sat right down to order my diapers even though everyone was waiting on me to go out. I had heard a lot about Kawaii diapers and couldn't track them down, so I was beyond excited when I saw them over at Sweetbottoms. They were on the inexpensive side, and I got free shipping because I live in the US. Not only do they make my wallet happy but they are SO cute! I got D the Minky Brown Cow print in snaps for under $12! I stocked right up on them, and waited for my order. They arrived in under a week and I ordered at 10pm on a Saturday. All the Kawaii's I ordered came with TWO microfiber inserts. I've had problems with the other diaper's I've tried but just two Kawaii inserts in ANY of my diapers and D is set for the night. And she is a VERY heavy wetter. I can't say enough good things about these diapers. They have a wonderful print, super absorbant inserts, very inexpensive and good quality. I have a couple with velcro closures and I have had none of the problems I'm having with my other velcro diapers. The laundry tabs are tough, the velcro is tough. I don't have any problems with laundry chains or the velcro weakening. Wonderful Wonderful diapers. These make up the majority of my stash and are the first I reach for. I have had 2 "Oh No we forgot a spare diaper and it's going to be 4 hours" emergencies and both times they held up wonderfully with just the one insert. I'd recommend these diapers the everyone I know!

And Beth over at Sweetbottoms is wonderful! I've been pestering her with question upon question and she always has a speedy and helpful response. Her items are competitively priced and you just can't go wrong with free shipping. I bought a jar of the Coconut Oil to try and use on D's rashy bum and it ran me under $10. I can't get it for that off of Amazon for that price! You just can't beat quality items, speedy service and wonderful customer service. If you haven't checked out her site yet, what are you waiting for? Hop on over to Sweetbottoms website and peruse for a bit!
